Bowed Single End

The Single Bowed Starting Step adds a subtle, yet elegant impact to the staircase. While the front of the tread offers a gentle bow, the sizing is similar to our standard starting step, featuring a 7¾” Radius (15” diameter) – to give ample room for volutes and balusters. The larger size also gives a more professional look and finish to the staircase.  Sizing for the single side bowed tread is based on the throat measurement, with a standard tread depth including nosing of 11¼” (a 10” run) – however, we can custom make the step to your needs based on measurements that you provide.  Combining the bowed starting step with 2 or 3 bowed treads can have quite a visual impact.  Our treads are color and grain matched by our master craftsmen to give you the highest quality tread at a great price.  These are not imported treads with multiple 2 to 3 inch boards slapped together – these are assembled by artists who care about delivering a quality product.  Our treads are 1” heavy and are made to fit precisely in our CNC routed custom stringers. The swell step comes assembled with the riser and interior components installed.  We can also make custom tread shapes and sizes from customer supplied CAD drawings, or from measurements.
