A full open stair is framed to a wall fully along the length of one stringer and open completely along the length of the opposite stringer. The staircase would consist of one open stringer and one routed stringer. |

A double full open stair is accessible to the room on both sides framed only underneath the staircase. The staircase would consist of two open stringers. |
